Santa Ysabel Nature Preserve is in fair health but is in decline due to the California drought as well as the forest fires that follow the dry, hot climate in the summer. Another factor of the drought is the recessing waterbeds of the creek. Air pollution is no loner a threat due to the population/commute decrease.
